ABOUT

Susan Zimmerman, RYT, is passionate about yoga as a discipline for the body and soul. A student of yoga since 1994 when she began exploring the benefits of yoga to relieve anxiety when performing, Susan realized the profound effect this had on her physical and mental well being not only in the performing arts, but in all aspects of her life.

Susan received her comprehensive 200-hour teaching certification in the nine month Prana Yoga Teacher Training program, affiliated through the New York Open Center at the Atmananda Studio in New York City. This program, led by Kripalu teacher training directors/faculty, Dr. Jeff Midgow and Robyn Ross was an all encompassing journey of yoga study including asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, relaxation, chakra study, mantra, chanting, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, yogic healing, yoga sadhana, yogic scripture and philosophy. Always a student, Susan continues to enhance her existing education with workshops, seminars and conferences to add to her knowledge.
